Help for a Dutch Amsterdam candlestick lettre date and maker

Post by aixois »

Hello

My Name is François from France.

I have this Dutch candlestick in Sterling Silver with the city Mark guilde of Amsterdam but I don't find more information on the other marks for the lettre date and possible maker.

The candlestick make near 20cm for a weight of 380gr, the marks are marked and repeat several time all around under the base.

I hope you can help me to find the age by the letter date and to indentify his maker.

You can find the pictures by this link:

Hi Aixois,

Welcome to the Forum.

You are far more likely to get a response if you embed your images as very few people will click on such links.

Hi welcome to the Dutch forum,

Not for Amsterdam, it are pseudo or fantasy marks, made turn of the 19th century. Could be made by the factory of Hooijkaas see;

Please check your candlestick for proper Dutch (hall)marks. See:

Hi and Thanks Oel

I read yesterday your post on the small box with pseudo marks of Amsterdam with same punch of the sailing boat and the big stylised H, in your answer when you explain that it was some pseudo marks of an old master and the H for a letter date.

Like my marks on the candlestick seems to be not exactly the same and the candlestick appear to my end of 18th or older, I have thinking that could be not pseudo marks, but I think your the best.

I'm very happy to have post on this forum of this interesting web site that I consult when I need best information.

Once again sorry for my poor english.
Bien a vous
Francois
