Hi,

Check if you can find a date letter and office mark. The Amsterdam town mark is a pseudo mark. The lion passant above 2 was used 1814-1953.
A clear enhanced image of the maker's mark could be helpful for identification.

Hi,

Drove me nuts:

What I thought to be a maker's mark in fact is another pseudo or fake maker's mark VB; seen on cups, spoons, tea pots # 357 Valse Zilvermerken in Nederland K. A. Citroen

This sugar basket with cobalt blue liner could have been made in the Dutch province of Groningen and perhaps by the firm of the brothers Niekerk, registered in Groningen 1899-1927.
