Hi all!
Recently I bought this nice salt cellar. I suppose that date letter is "H", i.e. salt cellar was made in 1762. But I don't know who is maker I.V (or J.V or L.V). Help please!
Thanks in advance.

Re: Nice salt cellar from Edinburgh - who is maker?
Good Morning Alex,
I'm leaning on the center character being an & symbol as in J&V, I&V, or L&V. Did see another Scottish mark that also showed the center mark being an S over period or pellet. Just to make it a little more confusing.
Sorry
Warren

Probably Archibald & James DALZIEL, very rare Dumfries makers. Hallmarks A&ID known from 1770 to 17??
