Peter Nordbeck silver spoon

Post by ageall246 »

Hi there,

I have a silver spoon made by Peter Nordbeck in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I was wondering if there is any way to date it. There is no date mark on it at all. ...just what is pictured below.

The spoon I have is exactly like the picture on this website...although he didn't make the one in the photo..his stepson did.

Hi Anne,

At this stage it is really just dateable to his working career, around 1827-1861.

I'm sure if someone had time and access to any of his pieces with dated inscriptions, they may be able to date it a little narrower, but to my knowledge, no one has done that yet.

Cheers,

Ben
