Hello all,
Please could someone help identify these marks on a silver teaspoon ?
Scottish marks Montrose?
Re: Scottish marks Montrose?
Hi,
It has to be Peter Lambert. Lambert worked in several towns, and I'm not sure what the mark on the right represents, perhaps a 'Pot of Lillies' from his Dundee period, but it does not match the examples that I've seen. How do you read it?
Trev.

Hi Trev,
This is what I have found online.

It appears to be the most similar set of marks to the marks on the spoon.
Thanks
Lee

Re: Scottish marks Montrose?
Hi Lee,
Lambert was known, as you've shown, to use the 'Rose' mark on his Montrose period items. I think more likely your spoon is from another town.
Nice item with great marks!
