Standard Plate of Totonto

Post by Traintime »

Just had a look at International Silver stock news for February 1st, 1899. In the list of named plants is "Standard Silver Plate Company, Toronto Canada" (yes, the one that says plate). Has this been noted before?

Just checked the chart in International's history book. Twice it shows "Standard Silver Co. of Toronto Ltd. 1895". No word "plate". In one line, Standard is merged into International in 1900. In another line it mergers with International (Canada) about 1912, which then itself merges into International (US) about 1922. Strangely they had placed a 1922 date where all the other companies showed their founding date, not the merger date. Maybe there are two Standard companies and they labled them wrong with one name(??).
