Hello Dendriet

Your attractive soup ladle in the filetpattern is made of 950 standard silver. The maker is Etienne-Henri Sanoner working in Paris at 79, rue Quincampoix from 10 January 1852 - 4 Septembre 1868. Yes, his symbol is a rabbit passant.

See Arminjon, v. II, No. 01588, p. 158.

P.S. The rabbit rang a bell. Ernest Compère was the successor of Sanoner, working at the same address from 4 September 1868 - 9 October 1888 when his widow took over the business. In turn Sanoner had been the successor to Laurent Labbé (1829-1852). All three makers used the rabbit as their symbol. See David Allan, p. 301.

Hi JayT,

Incredible, you're a walking encyclopedia.
I have really a long time searched for these rabbits, but they did not come on my screen.
JayT thank you very much for the effort, you always take.
I appreciate it very, very much.

Best Regards

You're too kind. It helps that I have a good reference library.

Yes, the rabbit was quick and quiet. LOL.

Always a pleasure.
