Eugène Ferdinand Rion, working 1841-1862, 8 cour de Harlay, Paris; see this thread: Help On French Silver Pot From Around 1830.

My research since that post nine years ago has shown that his name was actually Eugène Ferdinand Rion, not Eugene François as I stated earlier. He was born in Paris on 19 Dec 1811, the son of silversmith Sixte-Simon Rion (ca. 1781-1841) and his wife Adelaide Josephine Bourg. He married, on 14 Oct 1840, at the Church of St.Germain l’Auxerrois in Paris, Clarisse Champeau (1820-1885), and evidently left the trade in 1862 as noted. He died on 8 May 1883 in Bourg-la-Reine, Hauts-de-Seine.

Hope this helps!

Hi

If I am correct, the symbol (the "différent") of the father Sixte-Simon Rion was also a snake, a "vuivre" to be more precise.
This is common for the son of a silversmith to take the same différent as his father ; the most famous example could be François Thomas Germain, with a golden fleet as diféfrent, as his father Thomas.
