SHALLIS, James (Grimwade p.655, 767)

Born 1788.
Christening record for St James, Clerkenwell dated 4th June 1788. Father John.
1841 UK Census for Bride Terrace, Islington as a bleacher aged 50 years. Bleaching had been his father's trade.
1851 UK Census for St James Road, Islington as a retired bleacher aged 62 years.
No record of death found.

A James Shallis who was recorded as a Jeweller, etc. of 15 Ashby Street Upper, Goswell Street Road, is perhaps to be identified with the above.

25 December 1813 James Shallis's marriage to Esther Fuller was in the presence of among others A Bateman.

22 June 1859 James Shallis of Bride Terrace Liverpool-road Islington late of Grove Place Hammersmith both in the County of Middlesex Gentleman will proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of Esther Shallis and Jeremiah Fuller.
