SKINNER, Abel (Grimwade p.660)

Post by MCB »

There is a burial record dated 19th June 1741 for St Giles, Cripplegate of an Abel Skinner who died of "age". As the silversmith Abel Skinner's apprenticeship had begun in 1676 the burial record may be relevant to him.
The Will of Abel Skinner, late of St Leonard, Shoreditch, was proved for probate on 2nd March 1742 (National Archives reference PROB 11/717/50).

Although there is no profession cited in this will, it does cite a son named Matthew Skinner, and there was a Matthew Skinner the son of Able Skinner Joyner who was apprenticed to Francis Hill Clockmaker in 1698.
