Born around 1794.
Freedom of the City of London documents show his year of birth as 1794 and his father Thomas Mayfield as a goldsmith.
Entered a maker’s marks at Goldsmiths Hall as a goldworker in 1826 from 18 Staining Lane, in 1828 from 12 Well Street and in 1830 from 12 Nicholls Square. Thomas Egerton White (Grimwade p.381) registered a maker’s mark as a goldworker from 12 Well Street in 1835.
He married Elizabeth Chick at St Botolph, Aldersgate on 23rd March 1830. Both parties were of that parish.
1841 UK Census for Nowell Buildings, Islington where his recorded occupation is unclear; aged 45 years.
Died 1842.
London Deaths & Burials Index for St Mary, Islington register dated 11th April 1842. Aged about 46 years; last address Liverpool Road.
