Post by MCB »

Indentures were signed for the following to be apprentice to Stephen Gilbert.
1766 Richard, son of James Weaver, husbandman of Colbrook, Buckinghamshire. Gilbert is recorded as a plate worker at Panton Street;
1779 Joseph, son of Christa Reny Jaconet, cook of King Street, Golden Square. Gilbert is recorded as a plate worker at Church Street, Soho;
1787 William son of William Faulkener, labourer of Brompton Row. Gilbert is recorded as a silversmith at the preceding address.
There is a burial of a Stephen Gilbert of Dean Street (Soho) recorded at St Andrew, Holborn in 1812 which may be relevant. No age at death is shown.
