As Henry Cowper Esquire he was entered in the 1788 London Poll Book living at Old Palace Yard, Whitehall.
In his son John’s application for freedom by redemption in the Wheelwrights Company in 1795 his father was, as Heal noted in 1789, still recorded as a merchant from Gibraltar.
