Last noted by Heal in 1726 he continued to be assessed to Land Tax on property in St Swithin’s Precinct until 1729.
His burial was recorded at St Swithin, London Stone in the same year.

The Will of Francis Garthorne, Girdler late of London, was proved for probate on 20th January 1730 (National Archives reference PROB 11/635/147).

18 May 1702 Robert son of Francis Garthorne London Girdler apprenticed to the said Francis Garthorne.

After expenses, debts & etc and token bequests to brothers Anthony and George and a five pound bequest to sister Margaret Coates, Francis Garthorne left all of his estate to Joseph Allen Fletcher and Mordecai Fox Girdler to be equally divided between them for their service and credit support without which Francis felt he would of went under.
