REMMETT, Thomas (Grimwade p.640)

Post by MCB »

He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Hemings Row, St Martin in the Fields from 1797-1808. He had entered marks at Goldsmiths' Hall from there in 1797 in partnership with George Dixon and alone in 1798-1804, all as a small worker.
The christening of Thomas, the son of Thomas Robert and Maria Remmett, was registered at St Martin in the Fields in 1801 and of William Henry, the son of Thomas and Maria, at the same church in 1804.
He was listed as a plater at Hemings Row in the 1802 London Poll Book.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Frith Street, Soho until 1813.
The death of a Thomas Robert Remmett was registered in West Bromwich in 1839 and there is other evidence of both of his sons in the location to suggest the family had moved there at some earlier date.

This will was attested to by Charles Hall of Eden Grove Holloway in the County of Middlesex Gentleman and the two sons Thomas and William Henry were mentioned in the will.
