ROE, Ebenezer (Grimwade p.644)

Post by MCB »

He was christened the son of Thomas and Rebecka (sic) Roe at St Bartholomew the Great in 1676.
He was assessed to Land Tax from 1708-1717 on property in St Zachary precinct, presumably in Maiden Lane, from where he had entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1709. Those from 1712 were made in the name Ebenezer Row. The assessment for 1718 was made on a new tenant.
No later information has been found for him.

This is what I can find of Ebenezer Roe's freedom papers:

The paper is indexed under the date range May to October 1699 which along with the father's trade corresponds to Grimwade and the father's name agrees with Mike's information. Much of this document is indecipherable for me.
