The Will of Charles Chesterman, goldsmith late of St Andrew’s parish, Holborn, was granted probate on 22nd April 1775 (National Archives reference PROB11/1006/319).
His widow Ann (Grimwade p.464) entered her mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall on 20th April 1775.
Grimwade mentioned an obituary in The London Magazine announcing .....1770 Chesterman, goldsmith died 4th May. It appears to be premature as far as Charles was concerned.

Re: CHESTERMAN, Charles I (Grimwade p.464)
16 April 1749 Charles Chesterman and Ann Hilton married at Saint Leonard Shoreditch Hackney. Charles Chesterman has an M Hilton as one of the witnesses to his 1775 will. The M Hilton may have been his mother in law Mary. Almost all of the preceding is conjecture for the subject gentleman, but may be worth consideration at some time.
