Post by MCB »

He was christened the son of Jonathan and Hannah in 1725 at All Saints, Kingston on Thames, Surrey.
In 1749 he married Jane (born 1724) the daughter of William and Mary Morrell at St Clement Danes. He was from St Vedast, Foster Lane parish and she from St George the Martyr parish.
Their son Thomas (Grimwade p.484, 744) was christened at St Anne and St Agnes in 1750, daughter Jane and son Francis christened at St John Zachary in 1751 and 1753 respectively.
Simon the son of Simon Hughes, gentleman late of St Botolph, Aldgate, in 1757 and Benjamin the son of Richard Bratton a mason of Westminster in 1761 signed to be his apprentices.
He paid Duty in 1767 for the apprentice indentures of Joseph Stroud.
He was assessed to Land Tax on unidentified property in St John Zachary precinct from 1749-1774, presumably Carey Lane near to Goldsmiths’ Hall, from where he had entered his mark in 1749.
The Will of Jabez Daniell, gentleman late of Newbury, Berkshire, was proved for probate on 4th October 1777 (National Archives reference PROB 11/1035/150).
