ROMER, John (Grimwade p.646)

Post by silverly »

19 January 1765 Frederick Hershall of Saint Martin Westminster silver chaser paid apprentice indenture duty for John Romer. I do not know what this gentleman's connection may have been to the John Christopher Romer who is in the appendix of Grmwade's London Goldsmiths but of course suspect there is one.

Perhaps no connection, but worth recording as the name is slightly unusual, a Thomas Romer was recorded as a Jeweller & Goldsmith of 20, George Street, Adelphi. He shares his premises with William Lane, a Tailor & Draper. Perhaps also worth noting because of a similar name is Henry Rymer, also a Jeweller & Goldsmith, working at 6, George Street, Adelphi.
