Re: STACKHOUSE, Thomas (Grimwade p.669)
23 May 1749 (OS?) Thomas son of John Stackhouse of Wellingborough in the County of Northampton Hatter having paid a small fine free by redemption in the Company of Blacksmiths. Thomas had been apprenticed to William Wildman (Grimwade p.702) Blacksmith a working Silversmith by trade on 1 February 1718 (OS?). He served five years and one month and having unhappily married they parted by consent. Thomas petitioned for redemption because of poverty, a large family (and in daily expection of another child), a sickly wife and an opportunity to settle in the City.
