This is my first posting, i hope I am doing it the right way.

I am trying to identify this wine jug which has been handed down from my great grand mother.
I know she brought it with her when she emigrated from Russia in 1924.

There is no year marked on it. there are several hallmarks:
one on the hinged lid
one on the upper neck
one on the lower neck
one on the inside of the rim of the bottom
one on the middle bottom
i placed them on the photo to show their location

there is a knight hallmark which i understand means moscow. it is facing left.
i could not trace the stamped initials anywhere.

any assistance would be welcome

thanks
dan

Hello, this looks like Moskov silver from around 1880-1890. The Russian guarantee mark of that time is a horseman with the 84. The eagle (double-headed ?) probably stands for a supplier to the Russian Imperial Court. The maker ('BS' and 'BSG' or 'BSH') is unidentified. Best wishes, Bahner
