Here is a plain silver cigar box marked with Diana's head for Austria-Hungary 3rd standard silver and Vienna assay office (mark used 1872-1921).The maker's initials are 'GS'. So far, I was able to find online references to 19 silversmiths with the initials 'GS' that potentially any of them can be the maker of this box. Since there are no pictures available, I wasn't able to identify the right one. Can anybody help me to on this? Thanks
Austro-Hungarian silver maker
Re: Austro-Hungarian silver maker
HEllo!
It seems the mark of Georg Schmidt - about the known marks from Wien.
Neuwirth: Wiener gold- und silberschmiede und ihre punzen 1867-1922
Best regards!
