Hi all,

Delheid Frères
Active: Brussels 1862-1980

The Brussels house Delheid was founded around 1828 by Michel Delheid (1802-1872).
In the period 1829-1838 he was mentioned as a silversmith in the Miniemenstraat No. 8 in Brussels.
In 1842 he deposed his master's mark .
He had moved to Nieuwlandstraat No. 18 and married Elise Julie Edwards, London.
In 1862, two of his sons, Edmond-Joseph and Alphonse-Jules-Jean-Baptiste, gave the firm its definitive name Delheid Frères .
They registered a new master sign, the capital letter D under a snake.
Sometimes a brand is found where the D is above the hose.
The company was transferred to the Artesia streetbefore 1898; At the latest in 1897 a shop in the Augustijnenstraat was also taken.

The company Delheid Frères is mainly known for its large production of silverware in neostijlen .
The great breakthrough of Delheid Frères was to situate in the 1930s when they acquired international recognition with their art deco production .
The company remained active until the early 1980s.
