Dear Forum members
I bought this cigarette case online. Now, I am lost identifying the country of origin. It is a fairly simple machine made case, and with 125 gram rather heavy.I think it is European, I tend towards eastern Europe, after WWI, maybe before WWII. Estonia?
The guarantee? mark is very small, 1.5 x 0.8 mm. I did not see the Estonia lion in it, rather a flower or an insect. Maybe it rings a bell? There is only one 900 mark, one case half has no marks. Any help is welcome.
Thank you, Jörg

Re: Europen? Cigarette Case
Hi Jörg,
I cannot make out the mark too well, but perhaps an Austrian export mark?

Re: Europen? Cigarette Case
Is there any way to get a sharper picture, perhaps a little more in focus?
I would have assumed Austria as well, based on the "900" stamp and its general font and shape, but now I have my doubts....

Re: Europen? Cigarette Case
Hi Joerg,
Czechoslovakia hallmarks 1921-1992. Your unknown mark a "little" misstruck and not clear but could it be a Czech Č at the top of a fleur-de -lis. In a bullet frame shape. Czech import mark silver used from 1921 until 1941. The 2nd standard of silver in Czechoslovakia during this time period 1921-1941 was 900/000 fine.
Best,
Peter
