Please find below the link for the hallmark in order to zoom ;-)
Thanks

Re: Need help identifing this mark
Hi Don Smoka,
I'm finding the marks too difficult to interpret due to their diminutive dimensions...but looking at their position, plus shape and decoration of the set itself, speaks volumes as to its origin. Everything about it shouts Italy to me. Wait and see what Amena has to say...
Cheers,
Steve

Searching before posting them, I can confirm you're right Steve, it is Italian: St MArk Lion, Venice! Then I don't know about the makers' mark... Someone could?

Hi Don,
Have a look at this previous post on the St Marco Lion. It goes somewhat off topic regarding registration numbers but you will find an interesting post from Amena showing that the St Marco Lion was also used in Bologna by one manufacturer.

In saying that, I think it is probably considered mainly a Venetian emblem and so a good starting point to investigate for you maker.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can help further.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Need help identifing this mark
It is very likely that it is Italian, but I do not recognize the manufacturer nor even the city.
A better image of the oval mark in which it seems to read R and B could give some more indication.
Best

Hi Amena and thank you for your answer!
I've taken a better picture of the silversmith's hallmark:
If that could help finding the silversmith and period ;-)
Best regards,
Don

Hello Don
unfortunately I have no news for you.
Padua, Verona and Vicenza have a crusader shield as their emblem, so it is very likely that RB is a producer of the Veneto region. The service should be in the early 1900s, just before 1935, but I did not find anyone with these initials among the first members of the registries of these three cities.
I'm sorry
