Origin of this dish
Hello,
here is a silver dish imported in a France (head of boar hallmark), but do you know those other marks and/or where it is from?
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Don

Re: Origin of this dish
Hallmark looks to be a "B" or a "P" under a crown: could its origin be Portugal?

One more thing AG2012: what's your opinion about the french "head of boar" on this dish where as it is a portuguese dish? Do you thing custom officers thought it was a franch dish as they don't know thoses marks?

Re: Origin of this dish
(I Ask because i first made a mistake saying ''head or boar'' was for french import silver made products !!!)
Re: Origin of this dish
Boar`s head is not an import mark but there is silver with French standard marks (as required) and fantasy marks of unknown origin and without maker`s marks in lozenge :

Everything in your dish indicates Porto (even the style of lettering in maker`s mark).
