Spanish charm

Post by amena »

I know it's wise to ask first and then buy, but I could not resist the charm of this Spanish chalice and I bought it, even if I do not know anything about Spanish silver.

Can someone give me information?

Are there any other hallmarks? :: I see the "zig-zag" assay mark and a "BP conjoined" with something above it? :::

Hola amena, bonita pieza, muy interesante. Una pena que no tenga la marca del platero.
Se trata de la marca de localidad de la ciudad de Pamplona, utilizada en el siglo XVII.
Saludos

Hello, nice piece, very interesting. A pity that does not have the mark of the silversmith.
It is the locality mark of the city of Pamplona, used in the seventeenth century.
regards

Great, Funkel
Thank you very much for the confirmation. In fact, the seller told me that it was a seventeenth-century chalice from Pamplona. But, you know, sometimes sellers lie a little or are simply wrong.
Un saludo
