Possible Swiss marks

Post by Alice925 »

I thought this might be a Hanau piece but it was suggested that it could be older and possibly from Switzerland. It has a British import mark as well. He said someone here would know. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
It was imported by Arthur Graf,"Manufacturer's agent & importer", Goswell Road, London, date letter O for 1909.
Phantasy marks, cannot be much older than when imported, i.e.end of 19th century at the best.

The Netherlands is only reliable country of origin associated with A.Graf sponsor`s mark on imported silver because of very typical Dutch windmill tea caddy spoons he imported.
So, your stirrup cup can be Dutch, too.But of course,Hanau cannot be excluded.Being much older and of Swiss origin is very unlikely.
