B&B makers mark newcastle 1861

hi there, im new to the forum, i have used this site quite a few times in the past to look up silver hall marks.
this is my first post, im not certain how to or whether im allowed to post pics yet.
the marks i need help with are maker B&B, newcastle city mark and date letter x.
im 95% sure these marks are correct and until i get a pic up you will have to trust my eyesight lol.
if correct its newcastle 1861 the problem being i am finding it difficult to id the B&B.
if anyone can help let me know. will try and get pics up asap.

Hi Alan,

Not Newcastle, but Chester. See: http://www.925-1000.com/dlChester.html

The maker was Bacon & Bill (Charles Walter Bacon & Frank Bill) of 37-39, Hylton Street, Birmingham. It's difficult to make out the date letter, is it an 'X'?

yes it is an x. sorry i thought newcastle as i couldnt see a sword or dagger in the centre. lol.

Then it is likely 1923.

thanks trev, i just couldnt get away from newcastle lol.
being 1923 would it be possibly be linked to a certain german party ? delete this if its not appropriate,
im not sure if im allowed to ask. sorry in advance.

No, no connection, the swastika is an ancient good luck symbol with a long history of being applied to jewellery.

If you put the word 'swastika' into the search box (top right-hand corner), you will see many examples.
