CINCINNATI

Homan & Co. are tearing down the old building adjoining them and propose erecting an elegant new addition. It is quite evident that the enterprising young men at the head of this thriving concern are moving toward the top of the silver-plated ware world. They have been adding wings and extra rooms during the past two years, but the big increase of the past year has made an entire new building necessary. They hope to be in position by the time Fall trade opens to increase their output to meet every demand.

The Seventeenth Annual A.N.R.J.A. Gathering Held at Cincinnati Aug, 29-Sept. 1, 1922

The Homan Mfg. Co., Cincinnati, featured Homan Plate in hollow ware. One of the first to abandon the use of "Sheffield" on their nickel plated ware, they have already made the Homan Plate stand for quality. The most favorable attention was given by all to the new line of electric candle sticks which they have recently placed on the market. Eighteen styles of these were shown. A large line of hollow ware was exhibited and much favorable comment was made for the table mats which they manufacture to match in design the baskets and bowls.

CINCINNATI

Jos. T. Homan has completed the homenest, and has left for Philadelphia to claim his bride. The wedding takes place to-day and the happy couple will make an extended tour of the south, spending some weeks at St. Augustine, Tampa and Key West. They will return to Cincinnati the latter part of February and go immediately to housekeeping in the well-appointed house already provided by the groom.

Jos. Homan is at the Astor House, New York, with a complete sample line of his firm’s new goods. Every day a list or orders comes in from him. One of his objects in going to New York is to meet jobbers from the Far West who never stop in Cincinnati.

Homan & Company - Cincinnati - 1894

During the past several months the factory of Homan & Co., Cincinnati, O., notwithstanding the depressed condition of general business from which the industrial world is just recovering, ran on good time and with a large complement of hands, in anticipation of a reawakening of business in the Fall. The shrewdness and farsightedness of this progressive firm have been amply rewarded and the wheels of the plant are busy in the production of goods to fill orders. The many illustrations in Homan & Co.’s announcement on another page form but an epitome of the extensive range of silver plated goods produced by this firm.

The permanent representation in New York of Homan & Co. is another plume in the hat of this progressive manufacturing plant. They expect by Jan. ist to throw open to the eastern trade, one of the most attractive salesrooms on Madison Square, and hope to corral a considerable portion of eastern business. They have long been acknowledged as successful competitors for the western trade and have made rapid strides by important leaders they have turned out for the holiday trade this season. Chas. J. Jacobs, after Jan. i, 1895, will no longer visit the trade in the east. Robt. Lafferts will manage the firm's New York office with the assistance of Robert W. White. Mr. Jacobs will look after and manage their Chicago office, giving it more of his time and attention in the future. He will also visit their customers in the principal large cities west of Pittsburgh, including that city.

Homan & Co. have taken a five years’ lease of the entire fourth floor of 155 State St., increasing their space to more than double that formerly occupied by them. “ Our lines are increasing rapidly,” said manager Chas. J. Jacobs, “ and we required more room. New samples are arriving almost every day, and the increase in business in recent years has been very large. Since I gave up the eastern territory I have been able to give the west closer attention, and what I may have lost in sales in the east, by reason of absence, I have more than made up in the west.” In burnished fluted ware of a high class, the factory is making a large line that commends itself to the trade. Dainty pieces are shown in hexagonal wares in Napoleon style, an Empire pattern that is original with this factory. In candelabra and lamps the stock is especially rich and is expected by July 1 to be more than double in line carried last year. A very good Fall business is looked for, and the factory aims to be fully prepared. Improvements at the factory enable them to ship out large quantities of goods.
