A small deal box containing a large number of diamond rings, varying in value from £18 to £22 each, the property of Messrs Barber, goldsmith's and jewellers, 44, Warstone-lane, Birmingham, has been stolen in railway transit to the Metropolls, The firm are offering a substantial reward.

The Electrical and Industrial Exhibition

Henry Jenkins & Sons, die sinkers, medallists, stampers, &c, of Unity Works, Vittoria Street, Birmingham, will exhibit a medal press, striking medals to commemorate the Exhibition: also stamps and presses at work showing the processes of stamping and piercing, &c. Patterns framed, showing designs of checks, tokens, labels, &c.; also ornaments manufactured by the firm. Show cases, exhibiting stars, badges, ornaments, decorations, war and naval officers' miniature medals made by them; also a valuable collection of war medals from 1799 to 1887.

George Rowney, a Birmingham jeweller, has been remanded, charged with setting a dog upon a girl. She was bitten seven times on the arms and legs.

BERNARD DINWIDDEY WILMOTT

CHARGE OF ARSON

A Birmingham electro-plate manufacturer, Mr. Bernard Dinwiddey Wilmott, of Regent-place, was arrested yesterday on a charge of arson. The fire brigade was summoned to an outbreak on his premises on Saturday, and it is alleged that the stairs were found to have been saturated with paraffin. The fire was subdued before much damage had resulted.

MOLE & SONS

High Street, Birmingham


Chief-Constable Farndale, of Birmingham, on Tuesday received a consignment of damaged jewellery, which has since been identified as part of the stock stolen from Messrs. Mole and Sons, High-street Birmingham, and valued at over £5,000. The articles were found in a parcel in the River Mersey.
