this has a clear 925 silver mark and also a fish it does not look like either the dutch or danish fish, it looks like a ordinary cod type fish
the item is unusual I think it is a taper stick it is about 30cm long and has a thumb slide

Your mark makes me think to french or german hallmarks from the xviiie.
Unfortunately the style of your item do not match with this period...

It is definitely Isreali and of Jewish significance, I believe for ceremonial lighting purposes. You can still buy them from contemporary Isreali silver firms such as Hazorfim. This piece is also most likely contemporary to within the last few decades.

Also I think its called a "Tzinder" and specifically used for Shabbat candles.

thank you all so much really interesting, I had worked out it was to light candles but didn't know it was specifically Jewish
