Thanks Theoderich for your interest. We wonder if it is a stemmed flower on the shield. We also wondered if the laurel wreath was a French mark but then why would it be paired with a loth fork.Theoderich wrote:lets have a look to this forkilovespooning wrote: Was found with fork with same monogram (RR) and pattern with “13” loth standard indicated.
I have never seen the maks on your spoon
Thanks Jörg this is really helpful. This leads me to believe the spoons could be Swiss as well. I did find a Swiss shield with flowers for the city of Rapperswil but much older. Any thoughts on this?Joerg wrote:Sorry, something went wrong writing this, here again:
Hi
JJ in this font is Johann Jakob Jezler from Schaffhauisen, Switzerland. Sill in business, search for Jezler in this forum.
I do not see a connection to your spoons posted.
Regards, Jörg
Thanks Aleks that is really interesting!! We have been looking into French marks since your post, and I also see that Montpellier used the wreath as a hallmark which may look slightly closer to the mark on the spoon than the Paris mark. However, I wasn’t able to find as much detail as you did with your resources. Would you mind checking Montpellier and the wreath mark in your resources??
