Sample of two matched tri-footed round serving dishes, marked "1" and "2" on upper rims. Maker stamped before assayed, thus upside down. Crowned leopard head. Date letter "T" with tipped cartouche matching that of lion passant. Possible variant William Bateman I? Inside of one foot on each bowl is [WpelletGpelletW]...? TIA
Almost appear like stampings, but louped inspection reveals they must have employed some graver's tools. One leg on each dish is clearly marked....but, another leg on dish #2 seems to have a remnant of something like a failed punch (far left side and unreadable). Oh wait, dish #1 also has a left offset oddity on a second leg...thought it was tool marks, but might also be a bad punch. Maybe in natural light I"ll try to get some images...
