Antique Bible with silver clasps, maker?

Post by Vantlicht »

This antique bible, late 18th or beginning 19th century is only marked with LW. No other hallmarks.
Is there anybody who can identify the maker with only this information?
Thanks in advance!

Silver Bible locks on the hinges the allegorical figure of a woman with a shield or a mirror Prudentia (Prudence) and the allegorical figure Justitia with sword and scales (Justice)
On the clasp arms Sapienta ( Divine Wisdom).

The style of the silver bible clasps and mounts points to Groningen. Looking at the design of this mark, LW in rectangle, it could be for Lodewijk(Ludovicus) Wijnants, working in the city of Sappemeer in the province of Groningen, active 1768-till his death in 1808. Born in 1749. Married to Elisabeth Sladoot in 1776
