hello can anyone tell me about this hallmarks please date and peryod? and is it sterling?

This is an Exeter hallmark. JW is the mark of the Bristol company Josiah Williams & Co and the date letter F is for 1882/83, the very last year of operation of the Exeter Assay Office.
