Ⓚ - C·I·P - ⑫

Post by Silverstone »

Hi,
today I need your help.

- C·I·P -
Maybe the punch is from Saxony, Prussia or Poland - ca. 1750.

Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated.

thanks,
yes, it looks like CIP

there are some towns with K as hallmark

Chemnitz (it is not Chemnitz)
Künzelsau had a C or K ... there was a maker Johann Christian Preuninger (Breuninger) in the 1740...

Kitzingen (K or K under a bridge) I think it was not Kitzingen
Kemnath? I think it is'nt.

and some other towns. In the moment I have no answere.

Is there a taxmark? It it is from prussia, there would be probably a tax mark.

Theodorich, thank you for your thoughtful comment.

At Tardi "Poinçons d'argent" (2004) I found a K on p. 41, which means Kitringen - a wrong spelling for Kitzingen.

On page 45 there is another k, which indicates the period of time 1797/1800.

Your book is not a good reference.
There are so many things that we don't know yet and that can't be found in any books. That's why we do this work.

Have you an image oft the item?
