Apprentice to Masterpiece: The Work of the Goldsmiths’ Apprentices Exhibition

Until 25th April 2024

See the astonishing Masterpieces of four apprentices in our free Apprentice to Masterpiece: The Work of the Goldsmiths’ Apprentices exhibition curated by the Goldsmiths’ Centre.

Join us in celebrating the dedication and exceptional talent of the apprentices who successfully completed their training in December 2023:

Sophie Chapman (Asprey London Ltd) – Specialism: Silversmithing
Amy Gibson (Alex Monroe Ltd) – Specialism: Diamond Mounting
Celeste Heathcote (Sam James Ltd) – Specialism: Engraving
Charlie Lewis (Start Ray Ltd) – Specialism: Chasing

The traditional conclusion to a Goldsmiths’ Company apprenticeship is the presentation of a ‘Masterpiece’, a piece of work which takes up to 350 hours (or 6 weeks) to make, and which demonstrates all the skills learnt throughout the apprenticeship. This tradition marks a young person's transition from apprentice to craftsperson.

Opening hours: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday

Admission: Free
