Re: Spoon: 800 Koch & Bergfeld + N. Graetz
Nathan Graetz jeweler and merchant.
Nathan and Elsbeth Graetz were deported from Berlin to Theresienstadt on November 20, 1942 on the "75th transport of the elderly."
On February 3, 1943, Alfred Graetz was deported to Auschwitz together with his three-year-old and three-month-old daughter Gittel. Nothing further is known about their fate.
Nathan Graetz died on May 8, 1943 and was cremated three days later in the crematorium in Theresienstadt. Elsbeth Graetz died of exhaustion on August 5, 1943 at 2:20 p.m. in "Building E. II. Sickroom 47" at the age of 65.

Brutal, just freaking brutal! Thank you, Peter. I wasn’t being neglectful, but thought twenty four hours of silence to honor the family Graetz was appropriate, even if of limited value. At least these surviving objects stand in testimony of their existence and ultimate fate.
