Born 2nd October 1804.
Christening record for St Giles, Cripplegate dated 18th October 1804. Father Thomas was a baker; mother Ann.
Married Mary Clark at St Giles, Cripplegate on 25th December 1831.
Christening record for son William at St James, Clerkenwell dated 20th October 1839. Father recorded as a jeweller from 2 Skinner Street.
1841 UK Census for 2 Skinner Street, Clerkenwell but no trade recorded.
1851 UK Census for the same address as a master jeweller employing 3 men.
1861 UK Census for the same address as a master jeweller employing 5 men and 3 boys.
Wife Mary died 1869.
London Deaths & Burials Index for St James, St Pancras registry dated 2nd December 1869.
1871 UK Census for 3 Park Road Villas, Islington as a master goldsmith.
Died 19th July 1877.
England & Wales Death Index for Islington register dated 3rd quarter 1877.
National Probate Calendar for Principal Registry. Last address 3 Park Road Villas; value of estate under £12000 later revised to under £10000.

An 1880 advertisement from John Wilkinson's successor, his son William.

This business was styled John Wilkinson & Son from c.1860 - 1877, William Wilkinson from 1877 - 1914, and William Wilkinson Ltd as from 1914.

William Wilkinson died on the 25th April 1914, aged 74 years.
