Dutch cream spoon, Frisian? 18th century

Post by Vantlicht »

Another difficult one for me. It is a cream spoon, but only marked with a for me unclear makersmark. Hopefully you recognize this one?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I believe it to be Frisian and perhaps the mark of Eduard Elgersma. He used his initials script EE conjoined in monogram, registered in Leeuwarden 1725-1768. The mark on the cream ladle appears to be double/struck over each other.

Eduard Elgersma (Leeuwarden, baptism 19.3.1699 - Leeuwarden, burial 16.12.1768). Silversmith, working in Leeuwarden. Master in 1725. He was several times assayer of the silversmiths' guild. See: Voet no. 463.
Below is an example of his sometimes somewhat unclear mark.
