Silver beaker

Post by oel »

I was sent these photos of a silver beaker with the request to provide more information. The photos are not good, no measurements are given, and I do not know where the marks on the cup were stamped. A photo of the bottom of the cup would also be useful. Unfortunately, but I have asked for it and we may still get it. For now, we have to make do with this.
According to the owner, it could be a 17th century cup, which I doubt. The engraving seems more recent, the proportions are not correct, also the image of a man with a sword and a severed head in his hand, I think is more for the Hanau style around 1900
The marks are not Dutch, perhaps German or fake. I would like to hear your opinion.

I have also a bad feeling by this beaker. It looks not old.
