Spoon from Königsberg 1807

Post by Hose_dk »

My old (very old) mother gave me this spoon for christmas - I bought it myself - you cannot rely on.. :-)

Image Image Image Image

I have before had spoons from Königsberg identified here. So today it is a spoon. 2 sets of owners initials one J.P.B 1807 another DHC
Halmarks are
Citymark with 12 - 1 is partly missing.
ZIMMERMAN over 12L just his name no initials (so I soppose that this Zimmerman is another than the C Zimmerman last time i asked for a Königsberg spoon.)
Year mark V?? is it a V and what year is that?
and then asayers test mark

can anyone help me identify maker?

"V" was the date letter for 1807, thus contemporaneous with the first inscription. The maker is Johann Gottlieb Zimmerman II (1768-aft. 1833), master ca. 1791.

Happy Holidays!

Thank you very much. The initials with dots looked that time so they are the first owner - the engraving the second. I soppose it is second half of 18hundreds.
The spoon has hardly been usen so its in perfect condition and a bit more heavy than when I see Nordic spoons from same period.

Also a merry christmas to you and a happy new year.
