This brandy bowl is clearly marked with the citymark of Zwolle.
The other marks are unclear to me. I checked my book of Zwolle, but cannot find a match. Need a second pair of eyes here. Thanks in advance!
Brandy bowl, eight-lobed bowl on a pedestal with two cast handles. The bowl is decorated with hammered points.
Town mark Zwolle
The city hallmark for silver objects from Zwolle is based on the city coat of arms: a shield with a 'Zwolle' cross. The letters RD above the city hallmark refer to the content of the silver, which had to meet the content of the Rijksdaalders or Thalers at the time. Silver standard 885/1000
The date letter, although distorted, appears to me to be an O under a dot for 1801, which corresponds to the pricked date A=1801.
The maker's mark, struck over a previous (maker's/additional )mark, GIS for Gerrit Jan Schuurman II, registered in the Zwolle gold & silver guild 1787-1811. In addition to the master mark GIS in rectangle, he also used an 'additional mark', being a house.
