engl. snuffbox 17th or 18th Century who can help

Hello, I bought this snuff box and now i try to find out when exactly its produced. I tooked my english sillver mark book ( have 2 ) i tried to find out here but no result so your help is needed many thanks in advance with regards Henrik.

Hi Henrik,

Welcome to the Forum.
I don't think your box has traveled too far, the marks appear to be of the Hanau type. They are made to look like early English marks but the piece is probably late 19th/ early 20th Century. The maker could well be Gebruder Dingeldein, hopefully someone will confirm/deny this.

hello, and many thanks for your quick answer but i didnt
bought the box in germany i bought it in Vienna Austria so
so its about 1000km away from hanau hope someone else could give another hint with regards Henrik

We even see these boxes and marks here in America.
Believe Trev is correct in suggesting Gebruder Dingeldein.

hello just wanna thank all which helped me that quick...hope i can help somtime as well.... German and Russian marks im into. ....great side.....happy i found a place like this with regards Henrik
