Help with Daniel Low, What is this?

Post by darmy »

With much searching and the help of this website I was finally able to identify the mark on this piece. What I am now hoping is that someone can tell me what this piece is? I find is very interesting and like it alot but I just don't know what it is.

It's a sugar cube rack/tray/caddy/holder, have seen them on occasion with matching tongs. They make handy buffet racks for square crackers too.

By the way, your maker appears to be Lunt (Rogers, Lunt & Bowlen), hard to tell from the angle of your picture, but might be meant to coordinate with their pierced Chippendale pattern, introduced in 1910.

Thank you so much Cheryl. Great idea with the crackers. I will do some more researching on the mark. Thanks for your help and info.
