dutch hallmark on large spoon

Post by countscookie »

I have a salade spoon and fork, with Dutch marks: The lion with a 2 under it, and the Minerva head, then I think is the letter G which would make it 1889 (I think) what i cannot figure out is the last mark on the right which should be of the maker. I would sure appreciate if anybody could help
thank you advance

Hi,

Date letter Gothic G for 1891, maker’s mark unclear, could it perhaps be JS above 189, for Johannes Schijfsma Jz., city of Woudsend / Sneek 1848-1902.

Hi,
is there a letter in the hat of the minerva? This letter identifies the essay town, and usually the maker's town.
