Plated French cup
Hello
Yours present you've got from yours father is a plated French cup.
All French Plated makers’ marks have to be placed in a square cartouche; or maker's name in a horizontal rectangle.
Even so has the indication of used silver in g, for the Electro plating processing, to be shown in a square cartouche too. So the »1 1/2« signification is, that 1.5 g silver were used.
Please search before you place a question, in the future other basic information’s, you could find in »925-1000«.
Please look here: http://www.925-1000.com/foreign_marks.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

These are only very few examples, you could already find, before you ask.
I haven't searched yet to yours maker's mark - so you've all chances to find it out before me.
Please then let us now the result of yours searches.
Thank you!
Kind regards silverport

Hi,
Thanks for your infomation. I just found Stephane Proudhomme. His Mark for "plated" is differnent from real silver but it must be the same.
