Lutz & Weiss, with additional mark containing horserider?

Post by zilverliefhebber »

Could anyone help me with the mark displayed on the right next to the Lutz & Weiss mark:

Image

It looks like to me to be: a horserider / knight on a horse...

Kind regards, Mathieu

Hello and yes, that is a horseman, one of the two additional marks used by Lutz und Weiß. The other one being a lion (not in a shield, but in a rectangle). The additional marks were only used from time to time, don't know why. The last owner of the company didn't know either. Possibly the company tried to imitate British marks with a sequence like that. Best wishes, Bahner

Additional remark: the lion can also appear in a shield, but very often does not. B.
