Dutch silver spoon?
Re: Dutch silver spoon?
Spoon with the coat of arms of the Netherlands with crossed rifles; the emblem of citizen force, home guard or today’s rifle club, which all have their own silver collection; silver beakers and drinking-horns. Perhaps this spoon has been privately made on request, or made by a member of the club who in daily live worked as a silver smith. The spoon never has been to an assay office for official hallmarking other than at a later stage when it returned into the marked. The spoon because of the coat of arms of the Netherlands could have been considered national and thus marked with the hatchet.
Please show us a clear image of the hatchet (axe) and the maker’s mark and check the spoon for other marks; marks could be spread.
Could the maker’s mark read CB 1 in a lozenge? If so could be for; Carel Hendrik Boukamp registered in Amsterdam during 1835-1843

Re: Dutch silver spoon?
I need to get a better camera for taking pictures of hallmarks!

Re: Dutch silver spoon?
Hi,
Yes I do agree with you, anyway looking at your last image perhaps not a hatchet but a sword;
Dutch silver the sword standard mark for; small work silver 833 fineness= 83.3% pure silver. Used on small work without date letter, standard and office mark during 1814-1905/1906-1953

Take your pick.
The maker’s mark; CB in a lozenge for; Cornelis Bosch registered in Amsterdam 1901-19019
Please compare;
